The Nest is the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) wellbeing framework for children and young people aged 0 to 24 years.
The Nest has six ‘domains’ that create a way of thinking about the whole child in the context of their daily lives.
To have the best wellbeing, all six domains must be met. In other words, if every area is supported, we’re able to be happy and healthy and ‘fly from the nest’.
Why are we talking about the Nest? Because we have used the Nest to look at the voices of Logan collected through 1000 Voices to understand what is most important to our community.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be looking at the Nest and what each of the domains mean. And we’ll be sharing your voices – what our community has said about hopes and dreams for children in Logan, and how we can all work together to achieve them!
